A Lancer Christmas

As December begins, Saint John Vianney High School is already beginning to get into the Christmas Spirit. With the traditional Breakfast with Santa, along with a new family Christmas tree, the SJV community is all ready to start spreading the Christmas cheer.

The Breakfast with Santa at SJV is a tradition, and definitely a student favorite. “I’ve gone to the breakfast since freshman year and it only gets better” says a SJV senior, “What’s better than missing class to eat pancakes?” If students attend the Breakfast with Santa, they are excused from Block 2 and 4 to enjoy not only pancakes, but candy, games, and of course, photos with Santa Claus. This year, Breakfast with Santa will take place on December 19. Tickets are $10.00 each and will go on sale December 9 through December 12 during lunch.

Another Christmas themed sale going on right now is the Christmas Cookie Sale. Abbate Bakery in Matawan has paired with SJV to deliver 1 to 2 pounds of fresh Italian Butter cookie trays to students and their families for the Christmas season. If you’d like to order this delicious treat, orders must be in by December 5 so cookies can be picked up at SJV on December 17.

The newest tradition, the SJV Family Christmas Tree, is beginning this year. This year, a tree will be displayed in front of the school, and Mrs. Langdon has asked students to bring in an ornament to decorate the tree to truly make it a family tree. Ornaments to decorate the tree can be brought to Mrs. Langdon from December 1 to December 5.

SJV is surely preparing to rock around the Christmas tree this year!
