Halloween is the one day of the year where everyone is supposed to become someone they are not. Sometimes it becomes difficult to come up with an original costume to make you stand out from all the other trick-or-treaters. This short list of costumes is here to spark inspiration for your best costume yet!

• Scarecrow– A costume that no doubt matches the season. Wearing a flannel shirt, jeans, a straw hat, and some simple face makeup could really scare the crows away.
• Pirate– To scare all the landlubbers this season, just wear a white shirt or blouse, black pants or skirt, some red fabric to wrap around your waist, black boots, and an eye patch. If you want to add to more flare to your costume for some more Halloween booty, make your own hook for a hand and carry around a sword.
• Caveman/woman– You can go back to the beginning of time with this costume. All you would need is leopard or cheetah print fabric, cut it to fit your body, and wear it over a long black sleeve shirt and pants. Carrying around a wooden club or bone could really bring the idea across.
• Zoo Keeper– Animal lovers and children will fall in love with this costume. All you need is a khaki shirt, khaki shorts, a brown belt, a safari hat, and some work or combat boots. To really get the crowd to roar, you could carry around a stuffed animal that you would see at a zoo.
• Hobo– Another comfy costume that will keep you warm on the chilly, spooky night. A dirty flannel and jacket, ripped jeans, a beanie, sneakers, and a “Will work for candy!” sign will be unforgettable. You could also draw on a fake beard and mess up your hair just for the fun of it.
• Sports Fan– If you have any type of sports jersey, you have a costume. Wear said jersey with jeans, leggings, or sweatpants and some sneakers. Just make it seem like you are about to face the toughest game of your life and you will be set to hike or hit a homerun.
• Nudist on Strike– A very original and memorable costume for this season. All you have to do is wear normal, everyday clothes and carry around a “Nudist on Strike” sign.
