The San Francisco Giants honored Robin Williams at the beginning of the 2014 World Series Game 5 on Sunday night at AT&T Park.

The late comedian’s son, Zak Williams, threw out the ceremonial first pitch to none other than his father’s friend, Billy Crystal. The crowd cheered, emotional fans watched, and players on both the Kansas City and San Francisco teams applauded.

Zak, 31, was joined by Zelda and Cody, his siblings. All of the children wore San Francisco jerseys that read, “Williams” on the back. When Zak saw Crystal’s glove, he raised both arms in the air and could not control his excitement. After the ceremonial pitch, Crystal and all of the children embraced.

The Associated Press reported that a tribute for Williams was displayed on the main center-field scoreboard, highlighting his films in addition to photos of him from visits to the ballpark. A clip of Williams guiding fans in a chant also played, and Crystal got things going with a chant of “Play ball!”

“We are honored to be here in support of the tribute to our father, someone who loved his hometown and especially the Giants,” Williams’ children stated according to NBC News. “For all of us, it is a tremendous delight and a little surreal to throw out the ceremonial first pitch of the World Series game for our team to our dad’s best friend. We could not think of a better way to celebrate his memory. Let’s go Giants!”

The game ended up being a big win for the team, with the Giants leading the series 3-2.

Williams, a loyal Giants fan, died in August due to suicide.
