The NFL has expanded to new heights, now having 3 games a year in London. The NFL plans on having up to five games next season in England, even though the city is pushing for its own NFL team. If the NFL expands, there would be a great chance that a team would be in London.

Although a team isn’t set to be in London anytime soon, the games being played there have been very competitive. Like yesterday’s Lions Falcons game that needed to be decided by a game-winning field goal. The game looked all but over by the end of the first half as the falcons had a 21-0 lead, all they needed was one more touchdown to put the “nail in the coffin.”

Then the Lions defense stepped up in the second half, not allowing a point! All the Lions had to do was step up on offense, which they did on numerous tries. On 3rd and 25, Matt Stafford threw a 59 yard bomb to Golden Tate to cut the lead down to only 2 touchdowns.

And a few Falcon turnovers later the Lions found themselves down by 8 with 14 minutes left in the 4th quarter. After a battle throughout the 4th quarter the Lions scored a touchdown with a little under four minutes left. All they needed now was the two point conversion. They failed on the conversion but only down by 2 points and with three timeouts, they had as much chance to win as the Falcons.

They managed to stop the Falcons with 1:38 left on the clock, which still gave them a chance. They started their drive on their own seven yard line, and marched down the field. The Lions were making play after play, and it came down to their newly-signed field goal kicker and current NFL record holder for longest field goal Matt Prater, who was recently released by the Broncos. The kick was a 43-yarder, it was up and NO GOOD! But wait, there’s a flag on the play, delay of game! Even though this pushed the Lions back five yards, it gave them another chance to win. Now a 48-yard kick was up and GOOD! The comeback came true in London!

The game was action packed for the majority, and probably got a lot of views as it was aired on FOX. With the game starting at 9:30 AM E.T. the moment fans woke up there was football on. The NFL should consider a team in London, because that means all football, all day on Sunday from 9:30 AM til the start of the game on Sunday night at 8:30 PM. When it comes down to getting ratings, and improving the fan experience, the NFL is all for it, and hopefully they realize that a team is needed in London.
