Starting next week, Seniors at Saint John Vianney begin their last week in high school. It’s
bittersweet, but it begins a very eventful week ahead for them. We have senior skip, walkathon,
prom, and our final day of school. All the memories we have made with friends soon will be in
the past as we grow into not only young adults but people with careers and families. The
unknown is scary, but the challenges we face along the way are why we need to grow up. Every
day for the last 4 years, we’ve been going to the same place, seeing the same people, and
following a routine. Now, things are changing, people are moving on. Senior Valentina
Anastasia is sad to leave SJV but excited to move on. She stated, “While I will miss my friends, I
am ready to move on.”
We’ve learned a lot, not just from books or class assignments we didn’t want to do, but about
ourselves. We’ve had fun, made friends, and had a lot of tough times. Now, it’s time to take
those memories with us and move forward.
Closing this chapter doesn’t mean forgetting everything; it means being proud of what we’ve
done and getting ready for what’s next. Whether it’s college, a job, or something else, we’re
stepping into a new world. High school was just one part of the story, and now a new chapter
begins.
While I’m excited for a new chapter and to experience a new world, I will miss my family and
especially my friends. Leaving everything behind will never be easy, but leaving is so exciting.
So goodbye, SJVl. It’s been a wild ride. There were good days, bad days, stress, and a lot of
memories in between. I’ve grown up a lot and learned things I’ll take with me forever. It’s weird
to say goodbye, but I’m ready to move on and see what comes next. Thank goodness I don’t
have to wear this uniform anymore!
