It all began when Medina voiced her concerns regarding her age potentially posing challenges in her relationship journey with Joey. In conversation with fellow house members, Maria expressed disbelief at Medina’s apprehension, affirming Medina’s beauty and urging her to embrace her age confidently. “Medina, you are thirty-one, own it, Joey probably loves it,” Maria reassured, attempting to uplift Medina’s spirits amidst her doubts. However, what initially seemed like a supportive exchange took a contentious turn when Sydney, known for stirring the pot, intervened. 

Accusations flew as Sydney labeled Maria a bully, alleging that Maria had spoken negatively about Medina and disregarded her feelings. Despite Maria’s intentions to offer encouragement, Sydney’s involvement escalated the situation, causing tensions within the house. Sydney described Maria as “condescending” and “belittling.” When the word got back to Joey that all of this was going on, it concerned him. Joey believed that Sydney’s story was more questionable and Maria’s was more assured after speaking with Sydney, Madina, and Maria. Joey made the surprising decision to present Sydney and Maria with roses during the final rose ceremony.
