Number Three: Coraline
Coraline is a animated film about a young girl that finds a secret door in her new house leading
to a world very similar to hers. Although it seemed the same, Coraline thinks this world is so
much better than her actual life. She soon comes to realize that her parallel family wants to
keep her there forever and she needs to find a way out back to her real life and her real family.
Number four:
Hocus Pocus is a featured movie every year around Halloween and can also be watched on
Disney Plus. The movie is based in Salem, Massachusetts where a boy named Max his younger
sister and their new friend Allison are exploring an abandoned house near their new house.
Upon searching the house, Allison warns the siblings of the story of the Salem witches. Max
proceeds to accidentally let out the evil witches from the coven and they have a chance to
become immortal. They must get the witches spellbook and reverse the spell before it’s too late.

Number Five: Ghostbusters
Ghostbusters has come out with multiple versions of the movie but no matter which one you
watch it will always be a classic. The movie starts with three men named Harold, Dan, and Bill
who were all scientists that lost their jobs in New York City at a University. They decided that in
order to have a paying job, they would become professional “ghostbusters” in exchange for
money. They soon find out that there is more to it then just ghostbusting, and that in order to
keep the city from complete destruction, they must shut the door to the other dimension.
After reviewing all these movies, I hope to have sparked more interest in watching any of them
in this coming holiday season. I have personally watched all these movies and enjoy
Halloweentown the most! They’re all age appropriate so you can even watch some with your
family/younger siblings.
