The number-one team in the metropolitan division the New York Rangers has been red hot since the beginning of the season. On October 12 the season opened up with the Rangers beating the Sabers. The Rangers went on many streaks this year with the biggest so far being an 8-game win streak with dominance by the goal tanding tandem of Igor Shesterkin and Jonathan Quick. The shakiness of Igor has been backed up by Quick playing like he is back in his prime. Another huge catalyst for the team was Artmei Paneain playing the best hockey of his life. As he is the team’s leading goal scorer and assist leader the Rangers have been on fire.
Some players that have been disappointed this year are Kappo Kakko, Mika Zibajed, and Jacoun Trouba. Kakko played this year like he was afraid of getting hit. Kakko doesn’t want to shoot the puck and he doesn’t produce to the level that he should for being a second overall pick. Next Mika Zibanjed has not played well on 5 on 5 because he hasn’t scored since December. Lastly, Trouba hasn’t played to the level that he should, he should hit more but I feel that he is playing alright. I just would hope that he will be more physical.
Throughout the year there have been many players who have stepped up. I feel that Will Cullye has been an amazing player in his rookie season he is a young player who plays physically and scores goals. Next Alexis Lafferniere has been playing so well, he is the player that we thought he was when we drafted him first overall. Lastly, Ranger’s tough guy Matt Rempe has taken the world by storm. He brought old-fashioned hockey back to the league. He is my favorite player, I love the way that he fights and brings the hits.
Overall the Rangers are on the rise and they will be in the playoffs hopefully that could make a deep run with all of the players on the team. So Let’s Go Rangers!!
