Sayreville Welcomes Back Starland Ballroom
Almost one year after Hurricane Sandy hit the east coast; the iconic Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey has finally reopened. The famous concert hall opened on Friday, September 6th with the legendary Stone Temple Pilots to kick off the concert season.
In October 2012, when Hurricane Sandy swept the coast, the Starland Ballroom was part of the mass destruction. The building had damage to their electrical and cooling/ heating system along with their plumbing. Before the storm hit, New Jersey native Jon Bon Jovi was scheduled to have a concert in November, but it was cancelled due to the storm. He later on donated $1 million to his hometown of Sayreville. Starland Ballroom soon released information about their comeback after the storm stating they promised that they would come back even better than before.
Starland Ballroom is famous for their many small concerts but over the past years the venue has hosted artists such as David Lee Roth of Van Halen who performed at opening night in 2003, My Chemical Romance, Mac Miller, and Chris Brown, they also had Blink 182 a week after their opening this year. New Jersey concert goers have waited months for this place to come back and now it is finally here with a great opening show and an unforgettable lineup for 2013.
