Christmas movies are a tradition among many families and friends, bringing joy during the holiday season. Some of all Christmas movies stand out for their comforting appeal and advertisement. One of the most iconic Christmas movies is “Home Alone,” directed by Chris Columbus. This movie captures the adventures of Kevin McCallister, an eight-year-old boy accidentally left behind as his family goes on vacation. Kevin must protect his home from two burglars using a pattern of traps. “Elf,” directed by Jon Favreau, has become a Christmas classic. This movie follows Buddy, who was accidentally transported to the North Pole as a toddler and raised to adulthood among Santa’s elves. Struggling to get over the feeling that he doesn’t fit in, the adult buddy travels to New York in full elf uniform, searching for his biological father. “A Christmas Carol” is another Christmas classic about Ebenezer Scrooge, a miserable old man who hates Christmas. On Christmas Eve he is visited by the ghost of Christmas from the past, present, and future. These ghosts show him the impact of his actions that he has on others and change his perspective on Christmas. Scrooge is turned into a more generous person who embraces the spirit of Christmas. “The Grinch” directed by Ron Howard, is about a grumpy, green, mean creature named the Grinch who hates Christmas. He plans to steal Christmas from the Whos in Whoville. He disguises himself as Santa and takes presents, decorations, and food from each house he goes to. The Grinch eventually learns the special things and traditions people have and has a change of heart when he sees the people’s sad faces on Christmas. “The Christmas Chronicles’ by Clay Kaytis, is about two siblings, Kate and Teddy, who accidentally crash Santa’s sleigh on Christmas Eve. They team up and work together with Santa to save Christmas for everyone around the world, by delivering all the presents before morning. Along the way, they learn valuable lessons about family, belief, and the true spirit of Christmas. These movies are the best Christmas movies to watch on Christmas. They each bring their own Christmas spirit and show people what Christmas should be about.
