Now that the holidays are over, all the holiday themed activities are closing down.  However, there are still places to have fun in the winter.

At the American Dream Mall in East Rutherford, numerous winter activities are available for people to enjoy.  Head to BigSNOW for indoor skiing, snowboarding and tubing on real snow.  On weekdays, BigSNOW is open from 1 to 8 p.m.  On Saturdays, it is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Sundays, it is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.  BigSNOW offers multiple ticket options for customers.  They include single-visit experience, multi-visit experiences, SNOW play/tubing, private lessons and Camp BIG children’s program.  Between these tickets, they also rent materials, handle multiple deals for different age groups, and organize special events.  Outside of BigSNOW, the American Dream Mall features The Rink, a National Hockey League (NHL) sized indoor ice rink offering public skating, hockey and figure skating. 

Next, Campgaw Mountain, located in Mahwah, offers skiing, snowboarding and tubing.  This mountain is ideal for beginners to snow activities and the snow is produced from snowmaking.  Snowmaking produces artificial snow for ski resorts by spraying atomized water into cold air, which then freezes and forms snow.  Here, they also offer lessons which can be done in groups or privately.  Also, if necessary, people can rent equipment with a daily or seasonal pass.

Lastly, found in Vernon is Mountain Creek Resort.  With 167 acres of land, visitors can experience skiing, snowboarding, snowtubing, sno-go and snowshoeing.  Besides the common snow activities offered at other locations (skiing, snowboarding and tubing), Mountain Creek provides biking and hiking on snow.  The brand Sno-go offers ski bikes that allow people to ride down slopes.  These bikes have handlebars, allowing riders to control their direction, but they stand throughout the ride, rather than sitting.  On the other hand, snowshoeing is an activity where people can walk on snowy grounds.  Snowshoeing is good exercise, but it can be challenging, especially on hills and in deep snow.

In New Jersey, there are many snowy activities that people can participate in.  From hopping on mountains to ice skating, winter activities are endless.
