The SJV Cheerleaders have been hard at work since summer preparing for a tough competition season. In the 2024 season, the team joined a new division. They would be competing this year in the coed all-music division. This was very new for the team because they normally competed in the all-girl cheer and dance division.

Many teams have spoken out about their feelings towards the team switching divisions. Some are excited to see how they will do and others are hoping they crumble. The team has competed in this division in one competition so far. The routine was new and exciting and had the entire crowd cheering. It was great to see the new coed stunts added in now that they have three boys competing with them. The cheerleaders performed an amazing routine hitting it with zero deductions. The team has proved it does not matter what division they compete in, they will continue to be a threat to other teams.

They took first place in their division against one other team but also took home grand champs of the entire competition. This was a big accomplishment and proves they will be a tough competitor at States which is held at the end of February at Brookdale Community College. We are excited to see how the team will proceed throughout the season and if they will hold their place as State Champions.

Edited March 1st: The cheerleading team continued the rest of the season undefeated. Won a state championship for their division and grand champions of the whole competition.
