beginning of their 2024 season. SJV defeated Middletown North, Colts Neck, and
Shore Regional while losing to Wall Township and Howell. While Middletown
North had a challenging match, senior Maddison Pieloch scored the winning goal
to make the end score 3-2. SJV was beating Colts Neck 2-0 at the half with goals
from Milani Thomson and Maddy Maretta. Colts Neck found their way back by
scoring two goals in the second half. However, Senior Emma Albano scored the
final goal to make the game 3-2. SJV continued their winning streak last Monday
by beating Shore Regional 3-0 with goals scored by Erin Dorr, Emma Albano, and
Abby Cangelosi. Freshman Kennedy Wallace and Senior Maddy Pieloch were
crucial players in the center midfield. Goalkeepers Katie Buffalino and Sofia
Donello had shutouts against Shore Regional. SJV vs. Wall Township was the
week’s biggest game, with both teams ranked on the scoreboard. The game ended
in a 2-3 loss, with both goals scored by senior Maddy Pieloch. SJV vs. Howell was
another challenging game, with Howell ranked at number three and SJV at ten.
This game ended in a 2-1 loss with a goal scored by Freshman Kennedy Wallace
and an assist from Maddy Pieloch. The girl’s soccer team’s senior night is Monday,
September 30th, against Barnegat at 6:30 pm. The seniors being recognized on
Monday are Midfielder Emma Albano, Defender Abby Cangelosi, Defender
Ashley Cook, Forward Erin Dorr, Midfielder Grace Dubinsky, Forward Maddy
Maretta, Defender Elizabeth Marano, Midfielder Avery Ouano, Midfielder Maddy
Pieloch, Midfielder Alexa Ramirez, Midfielder Isabelle Stonesifer, and Defender
Milani Thomson. These twelve Seniors will all be recognized tonight
for their hard work and dedication throughout the past four years.
