Austin Schlessinger and Kyle Tuschman, both first-year varsity soccer players on the Saint John Vianney men’s soccer team each scored key goals in Vianney’s 2 to 1 victory over division rival Raritan. Schlessinger scored in the opening minutes of the match after cleaning up a shot by senior Alex Politi, which was deflected by the Raritan goaltender; Politi was awarded with an assist. Raritan quickly responded with a goal, tying up the game momentarily. In the closing minutes of the 1st half, junior David Kaminar finds sophmore Kyle Tuschmann in the box which results in Vianney’s 2nd goal. Vianney looks to carry the momentum gained from this victory into their match-up against rival school Rumson Fair Haven, away on September 17th at 3:45
